STUDY OF CIRCULATION PATTERN FOR INFORMAL SECTOR IN PUBLIC OPEN SPACE

ABSTRACT

Yos Sudarso Street is given for main street in Palangka Raya City. This street is an important part of Palangka Raya urban growth  history (Cilik Riwut, 1971). Yos Sudarso Street designed one line of Bundaran Besar and along of right-left Yos Sudarso street are public office and public open space. Nowaday, Yos Sudarso street has a many activies along this street, one of unique activity in this area is informal sector such as restaurant, café, and other activity. The location of informal sector is along of public open space area.

                This research is to concern of potential public open space along Yos Sudarso street. This research try to approve public open space can give a space for informal sector with study how to design a circulation pattern and architecture landscape will contribute for Yos Sudarso street and for Palangka Raya urban growth city. This research objective is to find of method for design of circulation pattern and architecture landscape for informal sector in along for Yos Sudarso Street. The output is this research will be able to approve how is important of public open space, ecology and infrastructure.

                This research method will use literature review, field observation, interview and quesioner. This research will do field observation by one sample of pilot project along Yos Sudarso Street. This research had been done in last year with focus in fuction of public open space. The stage of this research consist of: 1) preparation; 2) literature review of public open space theory, circulation pattern theory, sector informal theory; 3) analysis of public open space, analysis of circulation pattern and analysis of sector informal; 4) concept of public open space, concept of circulation pattern and concept of sector informal in public open space. This research will give information of physic consist of: (a) Design of circulation pattern in public open space; (b) design of parking area and pedestrian; (c) design building of informal sector  (d) design of street furniture in public open space. Non-physic will give information consist of: (a) social aspect; (b) economy aspect dan (c) ecology aspect.
